Bienvenidos mis amores

My name is Keara, I'm a full-time reader, part-time public library assistant, and part-time program analyst at a social justice non-profit. In 2020, I created The Boricua Bookworm, a bookstagram that was just a way to document what I was reading and hopefully make some friends. Over the course of four years (omg I can't believe it's been four years) I have since taken my passion for reading and social justice and cultivated a platform that still recommends books and makes friends, but more importantly forces the book community to take a long look at themselves. We are no longer trying to check off diversity boxes on a list, we are altering the fabric of publishing itself. I hope if you find this corner of the internet, you will be encouraged to speak up and speak out about injustices you see not just in online book spaces but in your everyday life. I have learned and grown more in the last four years than I did the first twenty of my life. This blog is hopefully a reflection of that.
